Background: Self-care is an important part of preventing unwarranted decline in poor health linked to multimorbidity and in maintaining or improving health. Health and social care professionals provide support for self-care, which can positively influence health and care outcomes. It is important to understand the extent to which they perceive their support to be effective and what barriers to its uptake and desired outcomes exist.

Background: Geriatric Evaluation and Management (GEM) services provide subacute care for older adults with complex conditions. Meaningful activities are important for preventing functional decline in hospitalised older adults; however, no studies have evaluated GEM inpatients' participation in such activities.

Objective: To determine the proportion of time GEM inpatients spend performing meaningful activities during the day and investigate whether ward environments and day of the week are associated with activity levels.

Background: There is a need to reduce delays to diagnosis for chronic breathlessness to improve patient outcomes.

Objective: To conduct a mixed-methods feasibility study of a larger cluster randomised controlled trial (cRCT) investigating a structured symptom-based diagnostic approach versus usual care for chronic breathlessness in primary care.

Methods: 10 general practitioner practices were cluster randomised to a structured diagnostic approach for chronic breathlessness including early parallel investigations (intervention) or usual care.
