Background: Circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) revolutionized the molecular diagnostics of lung cancer by enabling non-invasive, sensitive identification of actionable mutations. However, ctDNA analysis may be challenging due to tumor shedding variability, leading to false negative results. This study aims to understand the determinants for ctDNA shedding based on clinical characteristics of lung cancer patients, for a better interpretation of false negative results to be considered when ordering ctDNA analysis for clinical practice.

Introduction: The administration of proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) is a common practice to reduce gastro-esophageal adverse events associated with drug treatments but may impair absorption and exposure to oncology drugs. This study investigated the effect of concomitant administration of PPIs and pazopanib, sunitinib and cabozantinib on survival of patients with metastatic clear cell renal carcinoma (mRCC).

Patients And Methods: Total 451 patients receiving pazopanib, sunitinib and cabozantinib as first line treatment were enrolled in this retrospective study.

Article Synopsis
  • The development of embryos and fetuses occurs in a low-oxygen environment regulated by factors like HIF-1 and β3-adrenergic receptors (β3-ARs), and issues related to prematurity may arise from reduced β3-AR function due to premature oxygen exposure.
  • This research aims to study the relationship between oxygen levels and the expression of HIF-1, β3-ARs, and VEGF in preterm and full-term newborns by collecting and analyzing cord blood samples.
  • The study has received ethical approval and involves enrolling 100 preterm and 100 full-term newborns to identify correlations between gene expression and clinical outcomes, potentially offering new insights for

The presence of FLT3 mutations, including the most common FLT3-ITD (internal tandem duplications) and FLT3-TKD (tyrosine kinase domain), is associated with an unfavorable prognosis in patients affected by acute myeloid leukemia (AML). In this setting, in recent years, new FLT3 inhibitors have demonstrated efficacy in improving survival and treatment response. Nevertheless, the development of primary and secondary mechanisms of resistance poses a significant obstacle to their efficacy.

Aims: Low-grade myofibroblastic sarcoma (LGMS) is a rarely metastasizing myofibroblastic tumour mostly affecting extremities and the head and neck of adults. Histologically, it shows long infiltrative fascicles of spindle cells with moderate nuclear atypia. By immunohistochemistry, it stains positive for smooth muscle actin (SMA) and sometimes for desmin.
