Urban trees are crucial in delivering essential ecosystem services, including air pollution mitigation. This service is influenced by plant associated microbiomes, which can degrade hydrocarbons, support tree health, and influence ecological processes. Yet, our understanding of tree microbiomes remains limited, thus affecting our ability to assess and quantify the ecosystem services provided by trees as complex systems.

Protocol for oil red O staining of low-density lipoproteins for in vivo cell treatment.

Low-density lipoproteins (LDLs) are the most abundant circulating lipoproteins and the most critical factor in the development of atherosclerosis. This protocol allows the staining of LDLs with oil red O to monitor particle uptake in bright-field microscopy. Here, we describe how to stain isolated LDLs using oil red O and how to use them to monitor LDL uptake in time-lapse experiments or fixed cells.

Real-world use of imipenem/cilastatin/relebactam for the treatment of KPC-producing complex and difficult-to-treat resistance (DTR) infections: a single-center preliminary experience.

Introduction: Real-life experience with imipenem/cilastatin/relebactam (IMI/REL) for the treatment of KPC-producing complex (KPC-Kp) and difficult-to-treat resistance (DTR) (DTR-PA) infections is herein described.

Methods: Adult patients with KPC-Kp or DTR-PA infections who received ≥48 h of IMI/REL were included. Clinical and microbiological outcomes were retrieved through the medical records.
