The influence of landscape structure on epidemic invasion of agricultural crops is often underestimated in the construction and analysis of epidemiological models. Computer simulations of individual-based models (IBMs) are widely used to characterize disease spread under different management scenarios but can be slow in exploring large numbers of different landscape configurations. Here, we address the problem of finding an analytical measure of the impact of the spatial structure of a crop landscape on the invasion and spread of plant pathogens.

View Article and Find Full Text PDFBackground And Objectives: Previous research identified numerous barriers to general practitioner (GP) use of cardiovascular disease (CVD) risk guidelines, and it is unclear whether these issues have been resolved. This study explored recent GP experiences.
Method: Interviews with 18 GPs in an Australian state with relatively few COVID-19 cases in 2021 were transcribed and coded using a framework analysis approach, with data mapped to five previously identified CVD risk assessment strategies: absolute risk focused, absolute risk adjusted, clinical judgement, passive disregard and active disregard.
Objective: The aim of the study was to assess whether children and adolescents with epilepsy are at higher risk of behavioral disturbances when they have concomitant cognitive disturbances.
Methods: Behavioral scores were generated using the Child Behavior Checklist (CBCL). Cognitive evaluation was applied by using different age appropriate versions of the Wechsler Intelligence Scale.
