In Muco Obstructive Pulmonary Diseases (MOPD), abnormal rheological properties lead to highly viscous mucus, fostering chronic infections and exacerbations. While prior research has linked mucus viscoelasticity to its mucin content, the variability in MOPD patients implies the involvement of other factors.
