We hypothesized that restenosis after coronary stenting is predicted by elevated levels of markers of thrombus formation and inflammation. Plasma levels of representative markers of inflammation, the thrombin and plasmin activation systems and adhesion molecules were measured in 59 patients with stable angina pectoris before, immediately after and 6 hours (h), 12 h, 24 h, one month and six months after elective stent implantation (radioactive phosphorus-32 stents/RSs/ n = 16, bare-metal stents/BMSs/ n = 43). All patients underwent clinical and angiographic follow-up (FUP) six months after stenting.

Basal (BCC) and squamous cell carcinomas (SCC) differ with respect to their biological behavior since the former are only locally aggressive whereas the latter have a metastatic potential.
Materials And Methods: We studied the immunohistochemical expression of several BM antigens and of MMP2 and MMP9, in 13 BCC, 13 SCC, and 8 in situ skin carcinomas.
The induction of tumor angiogenesis is mediated in particular by an increased production of VEGF. As ras oncogene is implicated in tumorigenesis, the inhibition of farnesyl transferase activity has recently been developed. The purpose of this study was to evaluate whether expression of mutated Ha-ras oncogene is associated with an altered expression of VEGF in an in vitro model of human skin carcinogenesis and to appreciate the effect of a new farnesyl transferase inhibitor on this VEGF expression.
