Palliative surgery has a role in nonresectable pancreatic carcinoma. We attempted to evaluate the efficacy of palliative surgery followed by synchronous therapy in such cases. A group of 92 patients was studied.

A case of radiation exposure shortly before conception is presented. The patient refused abortion and was delivered of a healthy infant. On reconsideration of the case, it was decided that the recommendation to terminate the pregnancy on the grounds of excessive exposure to radiation was unjustified.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFGlucocorticoid- and androgen-binding receptors were demonstrated in cytosol of human renal cell carcinomas by the dextran-coated charcoal technique. Sedimentation studies using preparative ultracentrifugation indicated a 7 to 8 S binding component. None of the renal carcinoma cells tested contained detectable estrogen receptors and a few samples had a very low but demonstrable progestin receptor level.
