MicroRNAs (miRNAs) play a crucial role in regulating gene expression and influence many biological processes. Despite their importance, understanding of how genetic variation affects miRNA expression in the brain and how this relates to brain disorders remains limited. Here we investigated these questions by identifying microRNA expression quantitative trait loci (miR-QTLs), or genetic variants associated with brain miRNA levels, using genome-wide small RNA sequencing profiles from dorsolateral prefrontal cortex samples of 604 older adult donors of European ancestry.

Background: Hypospadias is a common congenital malformation. There are several classification systems for hypospadias. However, the phenotypic subtypes of hypospadias are inconsistently reported across databases due to the inherently subtle variability of the penile anatomy.

MicroRNAs are essential post-transcriptional regulators of gene expression and involved in many biological processes; however, our understanding of their genetic regulation and role in brain illnesses is limited. Here, we mapped brain microRNA expression quantitative trait loci (miR-QTLs) using genome-wide small RNA sequencing profiles from dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (dlPFC) samples of 604 older adult donors of European ancestry. miR-QTLs were identified for 224 miRNAs (48% of 470 tested miRNAs) at false discovery rate < 1%.

Bridging molecular information to ecosystem-level processes would provide the capacity to understand system vulnerability and, potentially, a means for assessing ecosystem health. Here, we present an integrated dataset containing environmental and metagenomic information from plant-associated microbial communities, plant transcriptomics, plant and soil metabolomics, and soil chemistry and activity characterization measurements derived from the model tree species Populus trichocarpa. Soil, rhizosphere, root endosphere, and leaf samples were collected from 27 different P.

Introduction: Hypospadias is one of the most common congenital anomalies. Trends of hypospadias prevalence by severity are not well reported. Most prevalence studies consist of pooled data from different countries or states suffer from low data quality due to inconsistent methodologies, limited variables, and lack of categorization of hypospadias severity.
