Background: Wilson disease is an autosomal recessive disorder owing to defective copper metabolism which causes abnormal accumulation of copper and damage to the liver, brain, kidneys and other organs.
Aim: To describe the clinical features, laboratory investigations and outcome of Wilson disease in children.
Methods: A retrospective observational study was conducted in the paediatric department of a tertiary- care hospital in South India by reviewing medical records between January 2018 and March 2023.
Aim: This clinical technique aims to retighten intermaxillary fixation (IMF) wires when loosened intra/postoperatively.
Background: Intermaxillary fixation is one of the most important steps to obtain stable and functional occlusion in maxillofacial trauma. However, IMF wires tend to loosen over time.
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to determine the amount of ramal height shortening and degree of displacement of sub condylar fracture that should be considered for effective management of mandibular sub condylar fractures using cone-beam computed tomography.
Patients And Methods: A prospective study of forty-two patients, who presented with unilateral sub condylar fracture was done. All patients were classified into Class I, II and III based on the degree of displacement of fractured segment and amount of ramal height shortening measured using cone-beam computed tomography.
Background: One of the most significant complications of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is diabetic nephropathy, the leading cause of end-stage renal disease. Another important clinical marker in patients with type 2 diabetes is QTc interval prolongation. We aimed to study the association between QTc interval prolongation and microalbuminuria in patients with T2DM.
