Access to health insurance for the people who give birth to, care for, educate, and nurture children will improve the health and well-being of these individuals and the children in their care. This article highlights how expanded coverage can improve the health and well-being of children in North Carolina starting before birth, through their young adult years, and beyond.

We also investigated if epidural blood patch (EBP) is associated with reduced risk of these morbidities.
Design: Systematic review and meta-analysis.
Background: Bupivacaine is commonly used in spinal anesthesia for cervical cerclage placement, but its long duration of action can delay hospital discharge. Chloroprocaine has a short duration of action and has re-emerged as an agent for ambulatory neuraxial anesthesia. There are limited data comparing intrathecal bupivacaine and chloroprocaine when used for cerclage placement.
