Synthesis, Biological Evaluation and in Silico Studies of Novel Urea/Thiourea Derivatives of Lenalidomide.

Designing new compounds from existing chemotherapeutic drugs to enhance inhibitory effects on tumor cells while overcoming multidrug resistance is one of the important strategies for new drug discovery in medicinal chemistry. A new series of urea and thiourea derivatives based on Lenalidomide as potential anticancer agents have been designed and synthesized. In vitro anticancer activity assay against Caki cancer cells and HUVEC endothelial cells revealed that 1-(4-methylphenyl)-3-[2-(2,6-dioxopiperidin-3-yl)-1-oxoisoindolin-4-yl]urea (11) exhibited the highest anticancer activity and selectivity in the series with IC values of 9.

Comparative efficacy of ultrasound-guided erector spinae plane block versus wound infiltration for postoperative analgesia in instrumented lumbar spinal surgeries.

Objective: This study compared the efficacy of ultrasound-guided erector spinae plane block (ESPB) and wound infiltration (WI) for postoperative analgesia in patients who underwent lumbar spinal surgery with instrumentation.

Methods: In this randomized controlled trial, 80 patients were divided into two groups: ESPB (n = 40) and WI (n = 40). Postoperative pain intensity was assessed via the visual analog scale (VAS) at multiple time points within 24 h.

Investigation of the Protective Effects of Magnesium on Bupivacaine-Induced Toxicity at the Level of Colon Cell Culture.

The primary objective of this in vitro study was to prevent the risk of toxicity associated with bupivacaine, widely used in clinical practice, by using magnesium (Mg), a readily available and cost-effective element, as an adjuvant. We hypothesized that Mg might exhibit a protective effect against cytotoxicity in a colon cell culture model under conditions of bupivacaine-induced LAST. Our secondary aim was to investigate its effect on genotoxicity, apoptosis, and iROS.

The protective effect of Cloprostenol on ischemia/reperfusion injury in rat ovary: Histopathologic and immunohistochemically evaluation: An experimental study.

OBJECTıVES: This study investigates whether Cloprostenol, a synthetic prostaglandin analog, could protect against ischemia/reperfusion (IR) injury in rat ovaries. METHODS: Adult female rats were divided into four groups: Sham groups, ischemia (IS) groups, ischemia/reperfusion (IR) groups, and Cloprostenol-treated (CT) groups. The IR injury model was established by clamping the ovarian pedicle for a specified period, followed by reperfusion.
