In-rubber properties of vulcanizates deteriorate in the presence of incorporated recycled ground rubber (GR). This behavior is partly explained by a possible diffusion of sulfur from the rubber matrix into the GR. Therefore, the sulfur concentration and, thus, the crosslink density in the matrix are reduced.

This work focuses on the modelling of the heat transfer in the key processes during the manufacturing of salted-smoked loin pork, a traditional Danish product called "Hamburgerryg". Drying, smoking, steam-cooking, water-cooling, and air-cooling processes are important process steps in the production of "Hamburgerryg". A mathematical model that describes the heat transfer during these processes was developed.

Proton radiotherapy has been implemented into the standard-of-care for cancer patients within recent years. However, experimental studies investigating cellular and molecular mechanisms are lacking, and prognostic biomarkers are needed. Cancer stem cell (CSC)-related biomarkers, such as aldehyde dehydrogenase (ALDH), are known to influence cellular radiosensitivity through inactivation of reactive oxygen species, DNA damage repair, and cell death.
