Hypothermia is a relatively rare condition in pregnancy and has been associated with fetal bradycardia. The management of maternal hypothermia resulting in fetal bradycardia presents a challenging dilemma for healthcare professionals. Currently, no evidence exists to advise on the duration of this condition before obstetric interventions are necessary for a safe outcome for both mother and infant.

Background: A prior study suggested that implementing a cut-off value of ≤30 mm for a short cervical length (CL) could potentially introduce selection bias and alter the distribution of CL measurements. As such, the objective of this study is to evaluate how CL distribution and incidence of short CL are affected when using different cut-off values for a short CL.
Study Design: This is a secondary analysis of the Quadruple P (QP) Screening study; a prospective cohort study that included low-risk patients with singleton pregnancies undergoing fetal anomaly scan at 18-22 weeks of gestation, including a CL measurement.
Introduction: Preterm birth (PTB) is among the leading causes of perinatal and childhood morbidity and mortality. Therefore, accurate identification of pregnant women at high risk of PTB is key to enable obstetric healthcare professionals to apply interventions that improve perinatal and childhood outcomes. Serial transvaginal cervical length measurement is used to screen asymptomatic pregnant women with a history of PTB and identify those at high risk for a recurrent PTB.
