Importance: Oral anticoagulation for adults with atrial fibrillation or atrial flutter (AFF) who are at elevated stroke risk reduces the incidence of ischemic stroke but remains underused. Efforts to increase anticoagulation initiation on emergency department (ED) discharge have yielded conflicting results.
Objective: To evaluate the effectiveness of a multipronged intervention supporting anticoagulation initiation for eligible adult ED patients.
Background: Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is an irreversible chronic respiratory disease which outcome depends on medication adherence. Pharmacists may increase this adherence by advising patients on inhaler devices proper use. This paper presents the protocol for a randomized controlled trial, which assesses impact of pharmaceutical consultations on COPD exacerbations, medical care, adherence to inhaler devices and quality of life.

However, little data is available on the costs of this treatment, as there is no code for HIPEC in the French Classification of Medical Acts. Oncological outcomes and the mean cost of hospitalization were compared.

Sec22b regulates phagosome maturation, yet how has remained unclear. Here we show Sec22b tethers endoplasmic reticulum-phagosome membrane contact sites (MCS) independently of the known tether STIM1.

Different approaches to these components of care may lead to variation in frequency of hospitalization and stroke prevention actions, with significant implications for patient experience, cost of care, and risk of complications. Standardization using evidence-based recommendations could reduce variation in management, preventable hospitalizations, and stroke risk.
