- Social isolation among the elderly is exacerbated by factors like retirement and health issues, leading to negative effects on their overall well-being, which was further intensified by the COVID-19 pandemic.
- Mobile telepresence robots (MTR) have emerged as potential tools to combat this isolation by facilitating social interactions through remote-controlled movement and communication features.
- A review of 24 studies over the past 20 years shows that while MTRs can effectively reduce loneliness and enhance social connection among older adults, there are still technical and ethical challenges that need to be addressed for better implementation.
The purpose of the present study was to learn about the experiences of parents of children diagnosed with renal failure at different stages of the disease in order to get closer to the process they carry out as caregivers. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with 12 parents and analyzed using interpretative phenomenological analysis method. Data analysis revealed two axes: spatial and temporal.
