Effective loading and delivering the wound healing-based materials to the wound site and area with an optimum concentration and limited cytotoxicity are essential for a complete and fast healing process. Here, we have designed Zn/Al-LDH nanoparticles-loaded CMC films for encapsulation and delivery of gallic acid (GA) in order to develop an effective and efficient wound-healing scaffold. The physicochemical properties of the prepared Zn/Al-LDH nanohybrids were thoroughly characterized by several characterization techniques, such as FESEM, Hi-TEM, FTIR, and XRD techniques.

Article Synopsis
  • - The study examines postoperative vision loss (POVL) following coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), focusing on potential changes in eye structures and diabetic/hypertensive retinopathy.
  • - Conducted with 49 eyes from 25 CABG candidates, the research found that while visual acuity slightly worsened after surgery, there were no significant changes in the thickness of choroidal, macular, or nerve fiber layers.
  • - The results suggest that the decline in visual acuity post-CABG may be due to factors beyond structural changes in the eye, possibly involving molecular or cellular mechanisms or alterations in how the visual pathways function.

Purpose: To determine and compare the efficacy of intravitreal bevacizumab (IVB) and oral acetazolamide (OA) combination therapy versus IVB monotherapy in patients with macular edema secondary to retinal vein occlusion (RVO).

Methods: This randomized clinical trial included 54 eyes of 52 patients with RVO central macular thickness (CMT) of more than 300μm, and best corrected visual acuity (BCVA) between 20/400 and 20/40. Eligible patients were randomly assigned to two groups: (I) IVB and OA (250mg twice daily) combination therapy or (II) IVB monotherapy.

Background: Rhizomelic chondrodysplasia punctata (RCDP) is a rare autosomal recessive inherited subtype of a family of congenital anomalies known as chondrodysplasia calcificans punctate (CCP). Given their low rate of occurrence, these cases are highly challenging to diagnose, and because the presence of chondrodysplasia is an indication for legal abortion in Iran, such diagnosis is extremely critical.

Case Presentation: A 27-year-old white multipara was referred for obstetric ultrasonography at 17 weeks and 6 days of gestation because an ultrasonographic study performed at an outside institution revealed a short femur length.
