Thermoregulatory control of human body temperature is of paramount importance for normal bodily functions. Exposure of the upper and lower limbs to localized cold stress can cause cold-induced injuries and often lower limbs are more susceptible to damages from cold-induced injuries. In this study, we use infrared thermal imaging to probe localized cold stress induced cutaneous vasoconstriction of lower limbs in 33 healthy subjects.

Background: Plants have the remarkable property to elaborate entire body plan from any tissue part. The conversion of lateral root primordium (LRP) to shoot is an ideal method for plant propagation and for plant researchers to understand the mechanism underlying trans-differentiation. Until now, however, a robust method that allows the efficient conversion of LRP to shoot is lacking.

Abnormal body temperature is a natural indicator of illness. Infrared thermography (IRT) is a fast, passive, non-contact and non-invasive alternative to conventional clinical thermometers for monitoring body temperature. Besides, IRT can also map body surface temperature remotely.

Background: Diabetic neuropathy consists of multiple clinical manifestations of which loss of sensation is most prominent. High temperatures under the foot coupled with reduced or complete loss of sensation can predispose the patient to foot ulceration. The aim of this study was to look at the correlation between plantar foot temperature and diabetic neuropathy using a noninvasive infrared thermal imaging technique.
