The use of aloe vera extract as a novel storage media for the avulsed tooth.

Background: Tooth avulsion is one of the most severe dental traumas which most often occur in children. When immediate replantation is not possible, storage in a proper media may lead to a prolonged survival rate. Aloe Vera is a cactus like plant with green, tapered leaves that are filled with a transparent viscous gel.

Investigation of the Relationship between the Increase in the Intercanine width and the Children's Facial Parameters; a 6-month Follow-up Study.

The present study, as a pilot study, aimed to investigate the increase in the intercanine width in different facial forms to predict the amount of future increase in the intercanine width. The results of the pilot study showed that the intercanine width increased more in the boys with wider faces while this relationship was not observed in the girls. Based on the results of this preliminary study, the girls' facial width could not be considered as a determining criterion in evaluation of the amount of increase in the intercanine width.

The effectiveness of oral rehydration solution at various concentrations as a storage media for avulsed teeth.

Introduction: Following avulsion, the periodontal ligament (PDL) cells are at risk of necrosis. To achieve a favorable survival prognosis, the PDL cells must be kept viability. Therefore, immediate replantation is considered as the treatment of choice and in case it is not possible, storing the tooth in an appropriate storage media should be considered.

Replantation of an avulsed maxillary incisor after 12 hours: three-year follow-up.

Tooth avulsion is defined as the complete displacement of the tooth out of its alveolar socket. The treatment of choice is immediate replantation or if that is not possible, placement of the tooth in an appropriate storage media. This report presents replantation of an avulsed maxillary central incisor after 12 hours of storage in milk.

Dental management of ectodermal dysplasia: two clinical case reports.

Ectodermal dysplasia is a hereditary disorder associated with abnormal development of embryonic ectodermally-derived organs including teeth, nails, hair and sweat glands. Hypodontia of the primary and permanent dentition is the most com-mon oral finding. Therefore, affected patients need dental prosthetic treatments during their developmental years.
