A systematic review of the effectiveness of community-based interventions aimed at improving health literacy of parents/carers of children.

Aim: The aim of this systematic review was to examine the effectiveness of community-based health literacy interventions in improving the health literacy of parents.

Methods: A systematic review of six databases - MEDLINE, PsycINFO, CINAHL, Cochrane Library, Embase, and Education Source - was conducted to identify relevant articles. Risk of bias was assessed using version two of the Cochrane risk of bias tool for randomised controlled trials or the Cochrane collaboration risk of bias in non-randomised studies of interventions.

Trust and digital privacy in healthcare: a cross-sectional descriptive study of trust and attitudes towards uses of electronic health data among the general public in Sweden.

Background: The ability of healthcare to protect sensitive personal data in medical records and registers might influence public trust, which in turn might influence willingness to allow healthcare to use such data. The aim of this study was to examine how the general public's trust relates to their attitudes towards uses of health data.

Methods: A stratified sample from the general Swedish population received a questionnaire about their willingness to share health data.

Bacteremia: the significance of outside versus inside hospital origin.

168 patients with bacteremia seen in 1965-1969 were studied with regard to mortality rate, age and sex distribution, sources of infection, predisposing factors and infecting organisms. Special attention was drawn to outside hospital originating bacteremia vis-a-vis hospital-acquired bacteremia. In general, the results obtained were essentially in agreement with earlier experiences elsewhere.
