New Genetic Variations in RNA-binding Protein Gene and Breast Cancer Risk: A Case-Control Study.

Background: LIN28, a highly conserved RNA-binding protein, regulate a wide variety of post-transcriptional cellular processes. The current study aimed to identify genetic variants of five single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in the LIN28B gene (rs221634, rs22163, rs314276, rs9404590, and rs12194974) and their association with Breast cancer.

Method: 220 patients and 230 controls were genotyped by the RFLP assay for Lin28B gene variants.

This study aims to assess the effectiveness of Cevimeline in relieving xerostomia in patients with Sjögren's syndrome by a meta-analysis of randomized clinical trials (RCT).

Encapsulation of extraction through different techniques is known to, optimize physicochemical properties, biological activities, maintain stability, and is an effective way to improve the shelf life of different foods. In the present study, the encapsulation of SIE was carried out by the freeze-drying method using maltodextrin, whey protein isolate (WPI), and chitosan.

Lentigo maligna melanoma of the face: Clinical insights from a case of recurrence following surgical excision.

Background: Lentigo maligna (LM) and lentigo maligna melanoma (LMM) are the most prevalent subtypes of melanoma, primarily affecting sun-exposed areas of the face in individuals aged 65 to 80 years. LM accounts for approximately 80 % of in situ melanomas and carries a risk of progression to LMM, which constitutes 4 % to 15 % of global cutaneous melanoma cases. This report discusses the clinical challenges and management strategies for recurrent LM, with an emphasis on accurate diagnosis and surgical intervention.

The effect of anesthesia on postoperative cognitive dysfunction in adults undergoing cataract surgery: a systematic review.

Background: We systematically reviewed the evidence on the effect of anesthetic methods and drugs on the incidence of postoperative cognitive dysfunction (POCD) after cataract surgery.

Methods: The Web of Science, PubMed, and Scopus databases were searched for relevant English reports published from 2000 to August 2024. After full-text screening and checking the quality assessment of each article using the JBI checklist, 9 relevant articles were included in this study.
