BK polyomavirus (BKPyV) infection of the kidney graft remains a major clinical issue in the field of organ transplantation. Risk factors for BKPyV-associated nephropathy (BKPyVAN) and molecular tools for determining viral DNA loads are now better defined. BKPyV DNAemia in plasma, in particular, plays a central role in diagnosing active infection and managing treatment decisions.

Among the diverse functions of NK cells, antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC) has been shown to predict better HIV-1 protection. ADCC is initiated by the engagement of an Fc γ receptor CD16 with an Fc portion of the antibody, leading to phosphorylation of the CD3 ζ chain (CD3ζ) and Fc receptor γ chain (FcRγ) as well as downstream signaling activation.

We aimed to assess humoral responses to boosted influenza vaccination in daratumumab-treated or -untreated patients.
Methods: In a single-center study, we evaluated humoral responses (hemagglutination-inhibition assay) one month following a two-injection (4-weeks apart) influenza vaccination (standard dose) in 84 patients with multiple myeloma (40 with daratumumab in the past year).
Background: Alongside the recent worldwide expansion of hypervirulent Klebsiella pneumoniae (KP) infections, the available literature regarding cases of community acquired pneumonias (KP-CAP) remains scarce but reports a strikingly high and early mortality. We performed a retrospective multicenter study (7 ICU in France) between 2015 and 2019, comparing prognosis and severity of KP-CAP versus Streptococcus pneumoniae - CAP (SP-CAP).
Methods: For each KP-CAP, three SP-CAP admitted in ICUs within the same center and within the same 6-month window were selected.
Purpose: The duration of antibiotic treatment for prosthetic valve endocarditis caused by Streptococcus spp. is largely based on clinical observations and expert opinion rather than empirical studies. Here we assess the impact of a shorter antibiotic duration.
