Modification of bone architecture following sleeve gastrectomy: a 5-year follow-up.

Bariatric surgery induces a decrease in areal bone mineral density (aBMD), but the long-term effect on trabecular and cortical volumetric bone mineral density (vBMD) has not been well assessed. The main aim of this 5-year longitudinal study was to investigate the changes following sleeve gastrectomy (SG) in aBMD, bone turnover markers and trabecular and cortical vBMD. Forty-five patients with obesity were assessed before and 1, 2 and 5 years after SG.

Prevent hypoglycaemia when using automated insulin delivery systems in type 1 diabetes requires near normal glycaemic variability.

Aim: Although newer technologies of insulin delivery in type 1 diabetes have facilitated an improvement in glycaemic control the risk of hypoglycaemia remains a threat. Therefore, it is important to define the thresholds of glycaemic variability below which the risk of hypoglycaemia can be eliminated or at least minimized.

Methods: Randomized controlled trials conducted from 2017 to 2023 comparing Sensor-Augmented-Pumps and Augmented Insulin Delivery Systems (n = 16 and 22 studies, respectively) were selected.

Psychometric properties of the French Infant-Toddler Working Alliance Inventory Short version (IT-WAI-S).

Objective: Therapeutic alliance has been little investigated in infant and toddler therapy, with no tools specifically adapted to this population. However, we have developed the Infant-Toddler Working Alliance Inventory-Short form (IT-WAI-S) which is based on the Working Alliance Inventory. The aim of this study was to assess the psychometric properties of this original French tool, in its two versions: for parent (IT-WAI-SP) and for therapist (IT-WAI-STh).

Serum NfL and GFAP are weak predictors of long-term multiple sclerosis prognosis: A 6-year follow-up.

Background: Serum neurofilament light chain (sNfL) and glial fibrillary acidic protein (sGFAP) are promising biomarkers that might be associated with clinical and radiological markers of multiple sclerosis (MS) severity. However, it is not known whether they can accurately identify patients at risk of disability progression in the medium and long term.

Objectives: We wanted to determine the association between sNfL and sGFAP, Expanded Disability Status Scale score changes, and conversion to secondary progressive MS (SPMS) in a cohort of 133 patients with relapsing remitting MS.
