We present a detailed cytogenomic analysis from a patient with suspected acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL), based on morphological and immunophenotypic characteristics. Initial testing with fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) and chromosome analysis was negative for the canonical PML::RARA and other RARA partners translocations. Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) did not detect PML::RARA transcripts.

Wastewater-based surveillance (WBS) can track the spread of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) in communities. Laboratory methods for this testing involve labor-intensive, multi-step processes. This study assessed the feasibility of performing WBS with an off-label use of an automated commercial SARS-CoV-2 assay that had received Emergency Use Authorization for human diagnostic testing from the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA EUA).

Introduction: The placenta produces corticotrophin releasing hormone (CRH), which rises exponentially in maternal plasma across pregnancy. CRH plays a functional role in fetal development, labor initiation, and the regulation of gestational length. We aimed to understand how maternal plasma CRH during pregnancy reflects placental physiology during parturition by characterizing placental transcriptomic signatures of maternal plasma CRH and comparing to transcriptomic signatures of gestational age at birth.
