Background: We investigated chitosan's protective effects against tertiary butylhydroquinone (TBHQ)-induced toxicity in adult male rats, focusing on cognitive functions and oxidative stress in the brain, liver, and kidneys.

Methods: Rats were divided into four groups (n = 8/group): (1) Control, (2) Chitosan only, (3) TBHQ only, and (4) Chitosan + TBHQ.

Results: TBHQ exposure led to significant cognitive impairments and increased oxidative stress, marked by elevated malondialdehyde (MDA) and decreased superoxide dismutase (SOD) and glutathione (GSH) levels.

One of the most promising applications for electroencephalogram (EEG)-based brain-computer interfaces (BCIs) is motor rehabilitation through motor imagery (MI) tasks. However, current MI training requires physical attendance, while remote MI training can be applied anywhere, facilitating flexible rehabilitation. Providing remote MI training raises challenges to ensuring an accurate recognition of MI tasks by healthcare providers, in addition to managing computation and communication costs.

Article Synopsis
  • * It analyzed data from 844 patients, finding that end-to-end anastomoses had a significantly higher rate of intraoperative air leaks (4.9%) compared to non-end-to-end (1.2%).
  • * However, there was no significant difference in the rates of clinical leaks after surgery between the two techniques, suggesting that intraoperative leaks do not necessarily predict postoperative outcomes.

In this study, an easy, efficient, economical, and eco-friendly green bio-synthesis method was utilized to synthesize silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) using the extracts of four plants: , , , and . The synthesis of AgNPs was confirmed by using a uv-vis spectrometer, which showed distinct surface plasmon resonance (SPR) bands. The surface of AgNPs was characterized using scanning electron microscopy and Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy.
