Barriers and facilitators to implementing polypharmacy management frameworks: a theory based qualitative exploration of key stakeholders.

Background: Inappropriate polypharmacy arises through many factors including deficiencies in prescribing processes. Most research has focused on solutions at the clinician/patient levels with less at the organisational level.

Aim: To explore key stakeholder identified barriers and facilitators to implementation of an organisational level polypharmacy management framework.

Effectiveness of Mediterranean Diet on Daytime Sleepiness among Individuals with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus in Oman.

 Sleep disturbance is a major complaint among individuals with diabetes mellitus and may be augmented by dietary interventions. The objective of this randomized controlled trial was to determine the effectiveness of a Mediterranean diet intervention on daytime sleepiness among individuals with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) in Oman.  In total, 134 eligible individuals with T2DM (61 and 73 participants in the intervention and control groups, respectively) were recruited.

Effect of Supplementation on Reproductive Parameters of Sahrawi and Jabbali Goat Bucks.

Spirulina platensis (SP) is a protein-rich dietary supplement that improves animal reproductive traits. This study investigated the effect of SP supplementation on puberty onset, semen characteristics, scrotal circumference (SC), libido, and hormone concentrations in Sahrawi and Jabbali bucks. The study was conducted in 36 bucks, divided into three groups ( = 6/group), for 70 days.

Implementation frameworks for polypharmacy management within healthcare organisations: a scoping review.

Background: Several guidelines support polypharmacy management in individual patients. More organisational-level focus is needed on the use of implementation frameworks.

Aim: To characterise the peer reviewed literature on implementation frameworks, focussing on barriers and facilitators to implementation at organisational level in the context of polypharmacy management.

The Impact of Demographic, Clinical Characteristics and the Various COVID-19 Variant Types on All-Cause Mortality: A Case-Series Retrospective Study.

(1) Background: Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) has rapidly evolved into a pandemic affecting virtually every country in the world. We evaluated the demographic, clinical, laboratory, and all-cause mortality of moderate and severe COVID-19 patients admitted to a tertiary care hospital in Oman during the different COVID-19 waves and variant types. (2) Methods: A case-series retrospective study was carried out between 12 March 2020 and 30 June 2022.
