Background: In 2018 the Australian Government launched the world's first National Action Plan for Endometriosis (NAPE). Of its three priorities 'Priority 1' was 'Education and Awareness'. In response, the Pelvic Pain Foundation of Australia was funded to deliver their Periods, Pain and Endometriosis Program (PPEP) Talk to a proportion of Australian schools.

Communication between the endocardium and the myocardium is essential for cardiac morphogenesis. Objective: This study aimed to assess the diagnostic accuracy of a novel semiautomated method to calculate relative myocardial wall uptake (RCU) of 99mTechnetium-pyrophosphate SPECT/CT in suspected cardiac transthyretin amyloidosis (ATTR).

Methods: Prospective analysis of 108 participants with suspected ATTR. Using novel software, we quantified radiopharmaceutical uptake in the wall of each chamber of the heart at 3 h, calculating RCU for combined ventricular (RCU-V) and whole-heart (RCU-W) measures as a ratio over physiological blood-pool activity.

Statin Drugs Are Associated With Response to Immune Checkpoint Blockade in Recurrent/Metastatic Head and Neck Cancer.

Background: Statin drugs, frequently used to treat hyperlipidemia, are associated with improved survival outcomes in multiple solid tumor types, including head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC). Preclinical studies suggest that manipulation of cholesterol with statins and other agents can enhance the function of multiple components involved in anti-tumor immune responses. Retrospective studies in other solid tumor types suggest that statin therapy is associated with improved responses to immune checkpoint blockade (ICB), but this has not yet been investigated in HNSCC.
