Purpose: This study assesses the impact of Cold Atmospheric Pressure Plasma (CAP) pretreatment on the bond strength of two-piece hybrid ceramic abutment crowns in implant dentistry. The objective is to ascertain whether CAP can be employed as an alternative or complementary technique to conventional methods.
Methods: 80 titanium bases and 80 VITA ENAMIC polymer-infiltrated ceramic network (PICN) crowns were divided into 8 groups (n = 10) based on different surface pretreatments of the crowns before cementation: no treatment (A), hydrofluoric acid (HF) (B), HF and silane (C), silane (D), CAP (AP), HF and CAP (BP), HF, CAP, and silane (CP), and CAP and silane (DP).
Objective: This case report illustrates a clinical scenario of a patient with insufficient crowns, gold onlays and localized tooth pain in the posterior teeth, treated with partial and full coverage lithium disilicate restorations.
Clinical Considerations: A female patient presented in the clinics, complaining about tooth pain and unesthetic metal restorations. After a thorough examination, diagnosis and treatment plan, the existing restorations were removed, and a defect-oriented preparation was done to preserve as much as possible of the remaining tooth structure.
Purpose: To evaluate the distortion probability in impressions of completely dentate arches when different impression materials are used in relation to operator experience.
Materials And Methods: A total of 28 students (Group A) and 7 dentists (Group B) performed three maxillary impressions on 28 participants, each using vinyl siloxane ether (VSE), polyether (PE), and irreversible hydrocolloid (IHC). Gypsum master casts were fabricated and subsequently digitized.
Objectives: The aim of this prospective, multi-center, practice-based cohort study was to analyze factors associated with the success of implant supported all-ceramic single-unit crowns, made by computer-aided-design/computer-aided-manufacturing (CAD-CAM).
Methods: All-ceramic crowns placed in a private practice-based research network (Ceramic Success Analysis, AG Keramik) were analyzed. Data from 567patients with CAD-CAM implant supported all-ceramic crowns placed between 2008-2023 by 54dentists were evaluated.
