Tissue-engineered vascular conduits (TEVCs) are a promising blood vessel replacement. In a recent publication in Cell Stem Cell, Park et al. developed TEVCs comprised of decellularized human umbilical arteries lined with shear-trained, human induced pluripotent stem cell (hiPSC)-derived endothelial cells (ECs) that resisted thrombosis and exhibited patency upon grafting into the rat inferior vena cava (IVC).

This involved use of marker-assisted backcross breeding (MABB) for introgression and pyramiding of the following genes: (i) the high GPC gene ; (ii) HMW glutenin subunits 5 + 10 at loci, and (iii) rust resistance genes, , , , and . GPC increased by 0.

However, the relationship between these abnormalities remains to be elucidated. We suppressed epileptiform activity by treatment with the antiepileptic drug levetiracetam or by genetic ablation of tau and found that these interventions reversed or prevented aberrant microglial gene expression in brain tissues of aged human amyloid precursor protein transgenic mice, which simulate several key aspects of AD.

Human babesiosis is a predominantly zoonotic disease transmitted by hard ticks that is of increasing health concern in the USA and many other countries. Microscopic examination of stained blood smears, detection of serum antibodies by immunoassays and identification of parasite nucleic acid in blood by qPCR and fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) are some methods available for diagnosing babesiosis.

The size of complete E. decemflorum plastome is 151,671 bp with an LSC (81,477bp), SSC (17,180bp) and a pair of IRs (26,507 bp).
