Background: Pneumonia is one of most important causes of in-hospital mortality in patients with decompensated chronic heart failure (CHF).
Aim: To evaluate the effect of adipose tissue mass and body weight index (BWI) on prognosis for patients with communityacquired pneumonia and decompensated CHF.
Materials And Methods: The study included 286 patients aged 53-90 with BWI 18.
Interleukin 1-beta (IL-1b), its endogenous receptor antagonist (IL-1 Ra), and interleukin IL-4 have been shown to play a role in immunopathological processes, such as the development of hypertrophy of the tonsils of the lymphoid pharyngeal ring and atopic march. However, the influence of Il-1 and IL-4 gene polymorphisms as etiological factors of this pathology remains obscure. The objective of the present work was to study characteristics of gene polymorphisms of proinflammatory and proallergic cytokines depending on the degree of hypertrophy of the tonsils of the lymphoid pharyngeal ring (LPR) and atopic march to selected species of the opportunistic pathogenic biota.

The article presents results of topographo-anatomical investigation of the asymmetric mini-access used in surgical treatment of the nodular goiter. It was established that the mini-access is rational, adequate and does not require special surgical instruments. The performance of hemithyroidectomy from the asymmetric mini-access used in 99 patients with nodular goiter had excellent cosmetic effect, early rehabilitation and low number of complications.
