Background: Patients use social media on a daily basis, and they can be restricted under the new Dutch Compulsory Mental Healthcare Act.

Aim: To describe which social media behaviors of psychiatric patients were rightfully restricted by health care professionals and reveal underlying reasons.

Method: We searched for law cases of the courts of first instance and decisions of boards on patients’ complaints from implementation of the new act (2020-2023) about patients’ behaviors related to social media in two open source databases.

To date, Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) in adolescents with special educational and care needs have received little attention as an important risk factor for their behavioral, emotional, and learning problems. This study provides insight into ACE prevalence and family risk factors in three Dutch special educational and care settings for vulnerable school-aged youth. 268 adolescents (10-18 years old) with severe and persistent problems at individual and family level, from a special educational setting (setting 1;  = 59), a residential care setting (setting 2;  = 86) and an alternative educational setting (setting 3;  = 123) were included.

Purpose: Hepatic fibrosis develops as a response to chronic liver injury, resulting in the formation of fibrous scars. This process is initiated and driven by collagen-producing activated myofibroblasts which reportedly express high levels of platelet derived growth factor receptor-β (PDGFRβ). We therefore regard PDGFRβ as an anchor for diagnosis and therapy.
