Aim: To evaluate the efficiency of high-frequency chest wall oscillation in the treatment of an exacerbation of chronic pyo- obstructive bronchitis in adult patients with cystic fibrosis (CF).
Subjects And Methods: A simple open-label comparative study enrolled 31 patients with CF. C-reactive protein (CRP), spirometric indicators (forced vital capacity (FVC), forced expiratory volume in one second (FEV1), peak expiratory flow), hemoglobin oxygen saturation, anthropometric data, six-minute walk test, and dyspnea rating by the MRC scale were assessed before treatment and on the last day of hospitalization.
Aim: To investigate the clinical features of cystic fibrosis (CF) in adult patients with carbohydrate metabolic disturbances (CMD).
Material And Methods: CF was diagnosed on the basis of its clinical picture and a positive sweat test, and/or genetic study. Clinical, anthropometric, functional, microbiological data were compared with the results of imaging diagnosis in CF patients with and without CMD.
Programs for the calculation of a dose field in rotation and multipositional irradiation methods, drawn up for SM and ES computers, are described. The programs enable one to make calculations not only in transverse but also in arbitrary longitudinal sections of a patient's body taking account of the heterogeneity of a medium and the transverse incidence of a radiation beam.
