[Facial hemiatrophy (Parry-Romberg syndrome)].

Three cases of a rare and little studied disease which is characterized by progressive atrophy of the tissues of one half of the face. The muscular layer gets injured to a less extent. Dysembryogenesis underlies the disease while the hypothalamic formations are primarily damaged.

[Possibility of using trimecaine for the treatment of cardiac rhythm disorders in myocardial infarct].

The antiarrhythmic effect of triamecain (mesocain) was studied in 104 patients with acute or chronic form of ischemic heart disease during 169 episodes of disorder of cardiac activity rhythm. It is shown that trimecain possesses marked antiarrhythmic activity manifested in disorders of automaticity and excitability as well as in cardiac fibrillation. Intolerance to the drug was a relatively rare occurrence.
