Myocardial fibrosis is an important factor in the progression of cardiovascular diseases. However, there is still no universal lifetime method of myocardial fibrosis assessment that has a high prognostic significance. The aim of the study was to determine the significance of ventricular endomyocardial biopsies for the assessment of myocardial fibrosis and to identify the severity of myocardial fibrosis in different cardiovascular diseases.

Adsorption energies, , of oxides and oxyhydrides of the superheavy element (SHEs) Ts and of its lighter homologue At on the gold surface are predicted on the basis of relativistic periodic density functional theory calculations AMS BAND software. The following compounds were considered: MO, MO, MOO, and MO(OH) (where M = At and Ts). The aim of this study is to support "one-atom-at-a-time" gas-phase chromatography experiments on reactivity/volatility of SHEs.

-associated diseases are rare causes of pharmacoresistant epilepsy and status epilepticus, especially in adult patients. Phenotypic and genotypic variability in these conditions causes the complexity of their diagnosis. In the study, we report a case of a 33-year-old female patient who developed recurrent convulsive status epilepticus with focal clonic onset at the week 22/23 of pregnancy.

Adsorption energies, , of the 7th row superheavy elements (SHEs) Lv through Og, as well as of the homologous species of the 6th row elements Po through Rn on a gold surface are predicted on the basis of relativistic periodic density functional theory calculations SCM BAND software. Since some of the elements can also form compounds such as hydrides and oxyhydrides under experimental conditions, the values of the MH (M = Bi/Mc, Po/Lv, At/Ts and Rn/Og) and MOH (M = At/Ts and Rn/Og) molecules on a gold surface were also calculated. The aim of this study is to support "one-atom-at-a-time" gas-phase chromatography experiments on the reactivity/volatility of SHEs.

The question of COVID-19 and long-COVID-19 course in children remains unsolved. This infection in children, which is associated with COVID-19, can vary from asymptomatic to systemic damage of various systems. Multisystem inflammatory syndrome in children, associated with SARS-CoV-2 (MIS-C), is a serious condition in children and adolescents after experiencing COVID-19.

In this work, carbosilane dendrons of the first, second, and third generations were obtained on the basis of a natural terpenoid, limonene. Previously, we have shown the possibility of selective hydrosilylation and hydrothiolation of limonene. It is proved that during hydrosilylation, only the isoprenyl double bond reacts, while the cyclohexene double bond does not undergo into the hydrosilylation reaction.

Persistent and recurrent hypercortisolism after transsphenoidal endoscopic surgery (TSS) is considered to be an urgent issue prompting the search for Cushing's disease (CD) remission predictors. The goal was to find a combination of predictors that can forecast the remission of CD after TSS. A total of 101 patients with CD who had undergone TSS were included.

Cardiac fibrosis is the basis of structural and functional disorders in patients with diabetes mellitus (T2DM). A wide range of laboratory and instrumental methods is used for its prediction. The study aimed to identify simple predictors of cardiac fibrosis in patients with T2DM based on the analysis of circulating fibrosis biomarkers and arterial stiffness.

A method is proposed to determine the M1 nuclear transition amplitude and hence the lifetime of the "nuclear clock transition" between the low-lying (∼8  eV) first isomeric state and the ground state of ^{229}Th from a measurement of the ground-state g factor of few-electron ^{229}Th ions. As a tool, the effect of nuclear hyperfine mixing in highly charged ^{229}Th ions such as ^{229}Th^{89+} or ^{229}Th^{87+} is used. The ground-state-only g-factor measurement would also provide first experimental evidence of nuclear hyperfine mixing in atomic ions.

Emery-Dreifuss muscular dystrophy (EDMD) is inherited muscle dystrophy often accompanied by cardiac abnormalities in the form of supraventricular arrhythmias, conduction defects and sinus node dysfunction. Cardiac phenotype typically arises years after skeletal muscle presentation, though, could be severe and life-threatening. The defined clinical manifestation with joint contractures, progressive muscle weakness and atrophy, as well as cardiac symptoms are observed by the third decade of life.

Composite fuels made of waste from coal, petroleum and wood processing industries have a high environmental and economic potential. In this research, we experimentally studied the concentrations of the most hazardous gaseous anthropogenic emissions (CO, SO, NO) from waste-based fuel combustion. Using two techniques operating in complementary temperature ranges, we obtained data on SO and NO emissions in the temperature range from 300 °C to 1000°C, including all the stages of thermochemical conversion of fuels.

Magnetosensitive polymersomes, which are amphiphilic polymer capsules whose membranes are filled with magnetic nanoparticles, are prospective objects for drug delivery and manipulations with single cells. A molecular dynamics simulation model that is able to render a detailed account on the structure and shape response of a polymersome to an external magnetic field is used to study a dimensional effect: the dependence of the field-induced deformation on the size of this nanoscale object. It is shown that in the material parameter range that resembles realistic conditions, the strain response of smaller polymersomes, against expectations, exceeds that of larger ones.

A coarse-grained molecular dynamics framework is proposed to investigate the equilibrium structure and quasi-static deformational response of a magnetic polymersome, a hollow object whose magnetoactive part is its shell (membrane). In the developed scheme, the shell is modelled as a pair of two concentric interfaces, between which a layer of a linearly viscous fluid filled with magnetic nanoparticles is confined; the thickness of this layer slightly exceeds the nanoparticle diameter. The shell boundaries possess weak bending elasticity, very high surface tension and are impermeable for the nanoparticles.

The aim of the study was the hygienic characteristics of the location of sewage pumping stations (SPSs) in the residential area of the city and the assessment of working conditions for the staff. The features of the technological process at the SPSs resulted in the formation of specific working conditions characterized by the presence of a cooling microclimate, noise production, technological vibration, air pollution by microorganisms. The assessment of working conditions has allowed to refer them to the 3 class (harmful working conditions) of the 2 and 3 degree.
