- Gastric cancer is a major health issue in Vietnam, particularly non-cardia early gastric cancer (N-EGC), and this study aimed to evaluate the characteristics and treatment effectiveness of ESD in Central Vietnam.
- Out of 606 gastric cancer patients, 46 were diagnosed with N-EGC and treated with ESD, achieving a high en bloc resection rate of 97.8% with manageable complications and no recurrence during the follow-up period.
- Findings indicated that a significant number of N-EGC patients had mild chronic atrophic gastritis, suggesting potential links between gastritis and N-EGC, while results showed promising outcomes for ESD as a treatment option.
