We propose a simple mathematical model to describe the mechanical relaxation of cells within a curved epithelial tissue layer represented by an arbitrary curve in two-dimensional space. This model generalises previous one-dimensional models of flat epithelia to investigate the influence of curvature for mechanical relaxation. We represent the mechanics of a cell body either by straight springs, or by curved springs that follow the curve's shape.

The use of a nonrigid, pyridyldialdimine-derived macrocyclic ligand (PDAI) enabled the synthesis of well-defined mono-, di-, tri-, and tetra-nuclear Cu(I) complexes in good yields through rational synthetic means. Starting from mono- and diargentous PDAI complexes, transmetalation to Cu(I) proceeded smoothly with formation of AgX (X = Cl, I) salts to generate mono-, di-, and trinuclear copper complexes. Monodentate supporting ligands (MeCN, xylNC, PMe, PPh) were found to either transmetallate with or bind various di- and trinuclear clusters.

Design, Setting, And Participants: In this cross-sectional study, a systematic literature review was conducted to identify unique International Statistical Classification of Diseases, Tenth Revision, Clinical Modification (ICD-10-CM) and prescription drug codes used by researchers to identify ADRD in administrative records.
Orphan GPR52 is emerging as a promising neurotherapeutic target. Optimization of previously reported lead employing an iterative drug design strategy led to the identification of a series of unique GPR52 agonists, such as (), (), and (), with improved potency and efficacy. Intriguingly, compounds and showed greater bias for G protein/cAMP signaling and induced significantly less in vitro desensitization than parent compound , indicating that reducing GPR52 β-arrestin activity with biased agonism results in sustained GPR52 activation.

In this instance, the maximum recovery strain and actuation angle achievable by a nitinol wire were employed as indicators of optimal performance. Nitinol wires were heat treated at different temperatures, 400-500 °C, and times, 30-120 min, to study the effects of these heat treatment parameters on the actuation performance and properties of the nitinol wires.

Probing the transient microstructure of soft matter far from equilibrium is an ongoing challenge to understanding material processing. In this work, we investigate inverse worm-like micelles undergoing large amplitude oscillatory shear using time-resolved dielectric spectroscopy. By controlling the Weissenburg number, we compare the non-linear microstructure response of branched and unbranched worm-like micelles and isolate distinct elastic effects that manifest near flow reversal.

Despite the extensive use of the exchange bias effect, particularly in magnetic multilayers, for the design of spin-based memory/electronics devices, a comprehensive mechanistic understanding of this effect remains a longstanding problem. Recent work has shown that disorder-induced spin frustration might play a key role in exchange bias, suggesting new materials design approaches for spin-based electronic devices that harness this effect.

Given limited pharmacokinetic data, it is unknown whether more flexible BPG treatment intervals might be effective in preventing congenital syphilis (CS).
