Transcranial Doppler Remote Positioning System with Virtual Reality Integration for Vestibular Studies.

Transcranial doppler (TCD) ultrasound probes are an invaluable tool in cerebral blood flow (CBF) studies. Their operation demands maintaining consistent pose on the subject throughout the experimental protocol. However, the displacement of the TCD probe during vestibular studies is common and substantially prolongs the experiment or even terminates it.

"The problem is that our culture is just so messed up about aging." Recruiting older men who have sex with men (MSM) into research studies: an example from a study of aging, HIV, and anal HPV.

Background: Anal human papillomavirus (HPV) disproportionately affects men who have sex with men (MSM), particularly those who are older and those living with HIV. After experiencing difficulty recruiting older MSM into a study on aging and anal HPV, we conducted a sub-study to gain feedback on our recruitment methods and explore barriers and facilitators to participating in anal HPV research.

Posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) occurs at high rates among college students, and there is an urgent need to develop brief and accessible interventions to help these at-risk students achieve academic and career success. This open-trial pilot study tested the feasibility and effectiveness of Written Exposure Therapy (WET; Sloan & Marx, 2019), a brief, five-session exposure-based treatment, when delivered in a real-world Counseling Services Center. Students who met criteria for probable PTSD were assessed at baseline, posttreatment, and 3-month follow-up using self-report assessments of PTSD and depression.
