Ovaries are important reproductive and endocrine organs in women. Ovarian tissue cryopreservation and transplantation technology can not only solve the fertility problems of patients, but also may improve female endocrine problems. This is particularly important for patients in urgent need of radiotherapy and chemotherapy, and for women with prepubertal malignant tumors.

Oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) is a malignant neoplasm with high mortality and morbidity. The role of circRNA and its molecular mechanism in OSCC remains largely unknown. The study aims to explore the role of a novel circular RNA (circLDLRAD3) in OSCC and its underlying mechanism.

Background: Rapid increases in the morbidity and mortality of patients with upper gastrointestinal cancer (UGC) in high-incidence countries in Asia have raised public health concerns. Screening can effectively reduce the incidence and mortality of patients with UGC, but the low population uptake rate seriously affects the screening effect.

Objective: We aimed to determine the characteristics that influence residents' preference heterogeneity for a UGC-screening program and the extent to which these characteristics predict residents' uptake rates.

Background: The increasing incidence of cancer in China has posed considerable challenges for cancer care delivery systems. This study aimed to determine the general population's preferences for cancer care, to provide evidence for building a people-centered integrated cancer care system.

Methods: We conducted a discrete choice experiment that involved 1,200 participants in Shandong Province.

Article Synopsis
  • microbioTA is a new online tool that helps people learn about microbes found in different tissues, especially those related to cancer.
  • It collects and organizes data from many studies, making it easier for researchers to understand how these microbes affect cancer.
  • The platform allows users to explore and download information about the amount of microbes in various tissues, helping to advance research in cancer-related microbiomes.

Background: This study examined the acceptance and willingness to pay (WTP) of rural residents toward packaging cancer screening (PCS) to provide a reference basis for promoting the screening sustainable development.

Methods: A face-to-face questionnaire survey was conducted among rural residents aged 40-69. The combination of double-bounded dichotomous choices and open-ended questions in the Contingent Valuation Method was used to guide participants' WTP.

Background: The low uptake rate of upper gastrointestinal cancer (UGC) screening substantially reduces the benefits of endoscopic screening. This study aimed to obtain residents' UGC screening preferences to optimize screening strategies and increase the participation rate.

Methods: A discrete choice experiment (DCE) was conducted to assess UGC screening preferences of 1,000 rural residents aged 40 to 70 years from three countries (Linqu, Feicheng, and Dongchangfu) of Shandong province in China.

Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the effect of adjunctive melatonin supplementation on clinical outcomes after non-surgical periodontal treatment.

Methods: PubMed, Embase, and Web of Science databases were systematically searched for randomised controlled trials (RCTs) of melatonin adjuvant therapy for periodontitis from inception until May 2021. The systematic review was conducted according to the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses guidelines and registered on The International Prospective Register of Systematic Reviews (PROSPERO) (CRD42021250630).

In order to replace traditional wound treatments such as sutures, tissue adhesives with strong wet tissue adhesion and biocompatibility have attracted more attention to the applications of non-invasive wound closure. Herein, inspired by tunicate adhesive protein, a series of 2,3,4-trihydroxybenzaldehyde (TBA)-modified chitosan hydrogels (CS-TBA-Fe) were prepared by easily mixing the solutions of chitosan-FeCl and TBA via the Schiff-base reaction and the coordination between Fe and pyrogallol groups. The gelation time was greatly shortened to only several seconds after induced even trace Fe.

Objective: This meta-analysis was implemented to evaluate the association between hypoxia-inducible factor-1α (HIF-1α) C1772T/G1790A polymorphisms and susceptibility to head and neck cancer (HNC).

Material And Methods: This meta-analysis has been registered on PROSPERO platform ( CRD42021257309 ). The PubMed, Embase and Web of Science databases were searched to retrieve eligible published papers.

Role of interleukin-10 (IL-10) promoter polymorphisms in the risk of oral cancer (OC) remains controversial. The present study aimed to explore the relation between IL10 promoter polymorphisms and the progression of oral cancer by performing meta-analysis. Seven studies with a total of 2141 controls and 1928 cases were included in our analysis.

Soil contamination with heavy metals has caused serious environmental problems and increased the risks to humans and biota. Herein, we developed an effective bottom up metals removal system based on the synergy between the activation of immobilization metal-resistant bacteria and the extraction of bioaccumulator material (Stropharia rugosoannulata). In this system, the advantages of biochar produced at 400 °C and sodium alginate were integrated to immobilize bacteria.
