The criteria for entering medicines in repertory rubrics are unclear and partly incorrect. A new repertory should be based on clear and objective criteria. Retrospective and prospective assessment of medicines and symptoms by the Dutch Committee for Methods and Validation gives an indication of the validity of existing repertory entries.

Fibrous papule of the face is a common benign lesion located most often on the nose. It presents usually as a single small, firm, skin-coloured papule and is often misdiagnosed as melanocytic naevus, wart or small nodular basal cell carcinoma. Histopathologically, the lesions are characterized by involvement of the upper dermis by a fibrovascular proliferation and scattered triangular or stellate, often multinucleated cells.

According to data from the literature and to new data from the German central registry for malignant melanomas from the German Society of Dermatology, a summary is given about the occurrence of malignant melanoma in children and adolescents up to 18 years of age. During the first 10 years of life the occurrence of a melanoma is extremely rare, but slowly increases after the first decade. Several studies have shown that young people often have amelanotic tumors resembling pyogenic granuloma.

Data from the literature and histopathological findings in six personal cases are used to illustrate criteria that can be applied in differential diagnosis between a Spitz nevus and a spitzoid variant of malignant melanoma. The diagnostic term 'atypical Spitz tumor' is explained; it is used to describe a morphological "grey zone" in which it is not possible to differentiate with adequate certainty between a Spitz nevus and a spitzoid malignant melanoma.

Background: Falls are common in physically active older people; however, most intervention studies have been targeted at frail older people.

Objective: To evaluate the effectiveness of two intervention techniques for preventing falls in physically active community-dwelling older people.

Methods: Two hundred and seventeen people (120 men and 97 women) aged between 70 and 90 years recruited from a health insurance company membership database were randomly allocated to receive either a psychomotor intervention focusing on body awareness, body experience and coordination, a fitness intervention focusing on functional skills, strength, endurance and flexibility, or no intervention (control group).

Tubular adenoma (TA) and syringocystadenoma papilliferum (SCAP) may show histopathological overlap, with some lesions having features of both neoplasms (SCAP + TA). TA has been recently suggested to represent a carcinoma. Four observers blindly assessed 67 cases of TA, SCAP, and their lookalikes (poroma, apocrine adenoma, apocrine carcinoma; all lesions focally featuring a pseudopapillary pattern), and classified the lesions into one of four categories: (1) TA, (2) SCAP, (3) SCAP + TA, and (4) others.

Primary cutaneous marginal zone B-cell lymphoma (PCMZL) is a recently proposed entity and constitutes the cutaneous counterpart of extranodal marginal zone B-cell lymphoma of mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue (MALT). The t(14;18)(q32;q21) involving the IGH and the MALT1 gene has previously been described in PCMZL, whereas the t(14;18)(q32;q21) IGH/BCL2 seems to be restricted to follicular lymphoma and diffuse large B-cell lymphoma. We screened 30 PCMZLs of 13 patients by fluorescent in situ hybridization analysis for the presence of the t(14;18)(q32;q21) IGH/BCL2 and the t(14;18)(q32;q21)IGH/MALT1.

Intravascular iodinated contrast agents are required for a large proportion of computed tomography (CT) studies. Contrast media are indispensable to more clearly differentiate anatomic structures and to detect and characterize abnormalities. Depending on the indication up to 200 ml of these agents are injected during CT.

A fully automated method for coronary calcification detection from non-contrast-enhanced, ECG-gated multi-slice computed tomography (CT) data is presented. Candidates for coronary calcifications are extracted by thresholding and component labeling. These candidates include coronary calcifications, calcifications in the aorta and in the heart, and other high-density structures such as noise and bone.

Galli-Galli disease (GGD), a rare genodermatosis in the spectrum of reticulate hyperpigmentation, is regarded as an acantholytic variant of Dowling-Degos disease. We herein report two patients with GGD exhibiting erythematous scaly plaques and lentigo-like macules on the trunk and lower extremities, rather than the characteristic reticulate hyperpigmented macules of large body folds. Digitate elongations of rete ridges coupled with foci of acantholysis were the clues to the diagnosis.

A considerable proportion of pregnant women develop high blood pressure in pregnancy. Although it is assumed that this condition subsides after pregnancy, many of these women develop the metabolic syndrome later in life and are at increased risk to develop coronary heart disease. Atherosclerosis development is considered in between risk factors and occurrence of vascular symptoms.
