Background: Infection with SARS-CoV-2 can lead to health impairments lasting over several months, the so-called Post-COVID syndrome (PCS). In order to better understand and assess the regional care situation with the acute COVID-19-disease/PCS, possible consequences of illness and current needs, a survey was conducted among the population of the Hanseatic City of Lübeck. The survey also analysed the distribution of PCS and the burden of disease in the sample.

As a novel stimulus, we use high-frequency ultrasonic waves to provide the required energy for breaking hydrogen bonds between Poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) (PNIPAM) and water molecules while the solution temperature is maintained below the volume phase transition temperature (VPTT = 32 °C). Ultrasonic waves propagate through the solution and their energy will be absorbed due to the liquid viscosity. The absorbed energy partially leads to the generation of a streaming flow and the rest will be spent to break the hydrogen bonds.

Micropollutants (MP) with varying ozone-reactive moieties were spiked to lake water in the influent of a drinking water pilot plant consisting of an ozonation followed by a biological sand filtration. During ozonation, 227 transformation products (OTPs) from 39 of the spiked 51 MPs were detected after solid phase extraction by liquid chromatography high-resolution mass spectrometry (LC-HRMS/MS). Based on the MS/MS data, tentative molecular structures are proposed.

We present an air-coupled ultrasonic imaging system based on a 40-kHz 8×8 phased-array for 3-D real-time localization of multiple objects in the far-field. By attaching a waveguide to the array, the effective interelement spacing is reduced to half wavelength. This enables grating lobe-free transmit and receive beamforming with a uniform rectangular array of efficient low-cost transducers.

Routine determination of troponin levels is recommended for all patients with acute ischemic stroke. In 20-55% of these patients the troponin levels are elevated, which may be caused by ischemic as well as non-ischemic myocardial damage and particularly neurocardiogenic myocardial damage. In patients with acute ischemic stroke, the prevalence of previously unknown coronary heart disease is reported to be up to 27% and is prognostically relevant for these patients; however, relevant coronary stenoses are less frequently detected in stroke patients with troponin elevation compared to patients with non-ST elevation myocardial infarction.
