[Support as an impetus for helping women cope with breast cancer].

Unlabelled: Breast cancer is the most common malignant illness in Israel and the western world; it accounts for 30% of all women with cancer. The woman suffering from breast cancer confronts and experiences surgery, loss, and long-term treatment that necessitate strenuous coping on her part, both physically and mentally. This research study examined the correlation between the degree of support that Jewish, Arab, and immigrant women from the former Soviet Union, who have cancer and live in the Galilee area of Israel, receive from their immediate surroundings especially from their husbands, families, friends, and the healthcare treatment staff, and their ability to cope with the illness.
