Purpose: The aim of this work was to report the effect of mismatch repair (MMR) status on outcomes of patients with stage I-II endometrioid endometrial adenocarcinoma (EEC) who receive adjuvant radiation therapy.

Methods And Materials: This is a multi-institutional retrospective cohort study across 11 institutions in North America. Patients with known MMR status and stage I-II EEC status postsurgical staging were included.

Objectives: The aim of this work was to study characteristics, outcomes and predictors of all-cause death in inpatients with SARS-CoV-2 infection across the pandemic waves in one large teaching hospital in Italy to optimize disease management.

Methods: All patients with SARS-CoV-2 infection admitted to our center from March 2020 to June 2022 were included in this retrospective observational cohort study. Both descriptive and regression tree analyses were applied to identify factors influencing all-cause mortality.

Conventional Radiology Evaluation of Neonatal Intravascular Devices (NIVDs): A Case Series.

Our radiology department conducted an assessment of 300 neonatal radiographs in the neonatal intensive care unit over almost two years. The purpose was to evaluate the correct positioning of intravascular venous catheters. Our case series revealed that out of a total of 95 cases with misplaced devices, 59 were umbilical venous catheters and 36 were peripherally inserted central catheters.

Methods: IL-6 levels were systematically measured at birth from a sample of blood taken from the umbilical artery.

The main objective is to assess the impact of delamination size and depth on the lifecycle and structural integrity of the panel.

The presence of a microbiome in the urinary system has been established through recent advancements in technology and investigation of microbial communities in the human body. The study of the taxonomic and genomic ecology of microbial communities has been greatly improved by the use of metagenomics. The research in this area has expanded our understanding of microbial ecosystems and shows that the urinary tract contains over 100 species from over 50 genera, with Lactobacillus, Gardnerella, and Streptococcus being the most common.

Objective: Spinal cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) leaks are common, and their management is heterogeneous. For high-flow leaks, numerous studies advocate for primary dural repair and CSF diversion. The LiquoGuard7® allows automated and precise pressure and volume control, and calculation of patient-specific CSF production rate (prCSF), which is hypothesized to be increased in the context of durotomies and CSF leaks.

Background: Sotorasib showed a significant improvement of progression free survival (PFS), safety and quality of life over docetaxel in patients with KRASp.G12C-mutated advanced non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) within the CodeBreak-200 study. Here we report real-world efficacy and tolerability data from NSCLC patients who received sotorasib within the Italian expanded access program (EAP).

Madagascar is a low-income country, highly vulnerable to natural disasters affecting the small-scale subsistence farming system. Recently, climate change and environmental degradation have contributed to an intensification of food insecurity. We aim to monitor the link between dry and hot extremes on vegetation conditions, separated or concurrently, using satellite data, such as LST, ET, ET0, and FAPAR products from SEVIRI/MSG disseminated by LSASAF-EUMETSAT.

Late-onset mucopolysaccharidosis type IIIA mimicking Usher syndrome.

Mucopolysaccharidosis type IIIA (MPS IIIA or Sanfilippo syndrome type A) is an autosomal recessive lysosomal storage disorder caused by pathogenic variants in the SGSH gene encoding N-sulfoglucosamine sulfohydrolase, an enzyme involved in the degradation of heparan sulfate. MPS IIIA is typically characterized by neurocognitive decline and hepatosplenomegaly with childhood onset. Here, we report on a 53-year-old male subject initially diagnosed with Usher syndrome for the concurrence of retinitis pigmentosa and sensorineural hearing loss.

Liquid Biopsy Response Evaluation Criteria in Solid Tumors (LB-RECIST).

Current evaluation of treatment response in solid tumors depends on dynamic changes in tumor diameters as measured by imaging. However, these changes can only be detected when there are enough macroscopic changes in tumor volume, which limits the usability of radiological response criteria in evaluating earlier stages of disease response and necessitates much time to lapse for gross changes to be notable. One promising approach is to incorporate dynamic changes in circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA), which occur early in the course of therapy and can predict tumor responses weeks before gross size changes manifest.

Cough-Induced Multiple, Bilateral, Asymmetrical Rib Fractures in a Scoliosis Patient: A Case Report.

Cough-induced rib fractures represent infrequent complications of strenuous and prolonged coughing, mostly provoked by respiratory tract infections, with localized chest pain being the most indicative component of the clinical picture. This paper reports a case of a 27-year-old female patient who presented with four cough-induced rib fractures following the contraction of an upper respiratory tract infection. The unique character of this case is provided by the young age of the patient, the presence of multiple and bilaterally located rib fractures, and the absence of predisposing factors related to her bone physiology.

Methods: A survey was administered to 283 members of SIAGASCOT (Italian Society of Arthroscopy, Knee, Upper Limb, Sport, Cartilage and Orthopaedic Technologies), a National scientific orthopaedic society. The survey presented multiple choice questions on the access allowed by the current Diagnosis-Related Groups (DRG) system to all necessary options to treat patients affected by OA and on the influence toward prosthetic solutions versus other less invasive options.

Despite use of tecovirimat since the beginning of the 2022 outbreak, few data have been published on its antiviral effect in humans. We here predict tecovirimat efficacy using a unique set of data in nonhuman primates (NHPs) and humans. We analyzed tecovirimat antiviral activity on viral kinetics in NHP to characterize its concentration-effect relationship in vivo.

Appropriateness of implantable cardioverter-defibrillator device implants in the United States.

Background: The appropriate use criteria (AUCs) are a diverse group of indications aimed to better evaluate the benefits of implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD) and cardiac resynchronization therapy.

Objective: The purpose of this study was to quantify the proportion of ICD and cardiac resynchronization therapy with defibrillator (CRT-D) implants as appropriate, may be appropriate (MA), or rarely appropriate (RA) on the basis of the AUC guidelines.

Methods: This is a multicenter retrospective study of patients within the National Cardiovascular Data Registry undergoing ICD implantation between April 2018 and March 2019 at >1500 US hospitals.
