Layered chalcogenides containing 3d transition metals are promising for the development of two-dimensional nanomaterials with interesting magnetic properties. Both mechanical and solution-based exfoliation of atomically thin layers is possible due to the low-energy van der Waals bonds. In this paper, we present the synthesis and crystal structures of the MnGaS and MnAlSe layered chalcogenides.

In the present work, a profound structural investigation of RE L-lactates is carried out. A family of RE lactate complexes of the general formula LnLact∙nHO (Ln = La, Ce-Nd, Sm-Lu, Y; = 2-3) are synthesized and characterized by CHN, TGA, and FTIR as well as by powder and single-crystal XRD methods.
