Multifunctional nanomaterials with potential applications in both bioimaging and photodynamic-sonodynamic therapy have great advantages in cancer theranostic, but the design and preparation of "all-in-one" type of multifunctional nanomaterials with single component remains challenging. Herein the "all-in-one" type of Mn-PpIX (Protoporphyrin IX) coordination polymers (MnPPs) was reported as efficient nano-photo/sonosensitizers. The MnPPs had an average size of ∼ 110 nm.

Article Synopsis
  • Researchers have developed MnO-Ag nanojunctions that enhance the performance of photoreversible color switching systems (PCSSs), which could replace traditional photochromic materials by utilizing unique photocatalytic and photothermal properties.
  • These nanojunctions are created using specific chemical precursors and feature nanoparticles of MnO decorated with silver nanodots, improving their ability to absorb visible light and promoting efficient color switching through a two-step light irradiation process.
  • The combination of these nanojunctions with redox dyes allows for the creation of rewritable inks capable of changing color under different light wavelengths, enabling the development of rewritable fabrics with impressive durability and reversibility.

Four acetate-decorated tri-Ln-substituted trimeric antimonotungstates (AMTs) Na{(WO)[Ln(HO)(Ac)(B-α-SbWO(OH))]}·50HO [Ln = Eu (), Dy (), Ho (), or Gd ()] were isolated by reaction of Na[B-α-SbWO]·19.5HO, NaWO·2HO, and Ln(NO)·6HO in a HAc/NaAc buffer solution. Interestingly, a tetrahedral {WO} group plays a significant structure-directing template role in the formation of their polyoxoanions.

A double-oxalate-bridging tetra-Gd containing divacant Lindqvist dimeric isopolytungtate Na[Gd(CO)(HO)(OH)WO]·30HO () was obtained based on the reaction of NaWO·2HO, HCO, and GdCl in aqueous solution. Its dimeric polyoxoanion is established by two divacant Lindqvist [WO] segments connected by a rectangular tetra-nuclearity [Gd(CO)(HO)(OH)] cluster. Notably, neighboring trinuclear [NaO(HO)] clusters are interconnected to construct a picturesque 1-D sinusoidal Na-O cluster chain.

Noncovalent phosphorylation of CoCr layered double hydroxides (LDHs) was successfully performed for the first time by blending CoCr LDHs with a precursor solution of P2O5 dissolved in isopropanol. The as-prepared material exhibits a higher oxygen evolution reaction electrocatalytic activity than those based on pristine CoCr LDHs and commercial RuO2.

A series of CeF3 nanocrystals with uniform morphologies have been synthesized by introducing various polyoxometalates as dopants and shape modifiers. The results indicate that the shape and photoluminescence of the CeF3 nanocrystals could be finely tuned by changing the component and amount of the polyoxometalates.

Herein, silver-fluorescein co-doped phosphotungstate hollow spheres have been successfully synthesized using a chemical precipitation method by introducing silver ions and fluorescein at room temperature. This hybrid nanomaterial possesses a uniform structure, exhibiting a strong emission spectrum with a peak centered at 517 nm. It is anticipated that silver and fluorescein as functionalized dopants for the phosphotungstate hollow sphere structure would provide this material with multiple properties.
