Magnetic semiconductors with high critical temperature have long been the focus in materials science and are also known as one of the fundamental questions in two-dimensional (2D) materials. Based on density functional theory calculations, we predict a 2D spin-gapless ferromagnetic semiconductor of CrGaSe monolayer, in which the type of spin-polarized current can be tuned by tailoring the Fermi energy. Moreover, the magnetic anisotropy energy calculations indicate that the CrGaSe monolayer possesses spin anisotropy both in the basal plane and the vertical plane.

Red-peeled huyou has a distinct red peel color due mainly to the presence of red apocarotenoid β-citraurin as well as the increase in amount of total carotenoids. The expression level of carotenoid cleavage dioxygenase 4b1 (CCD4b1) accounted for 99.0% of total transcript abundance of CCD4s in red-peeled huyou peel and was nearly 100 times higher than that in ordinary huyou.

Plastids are sites for carotenoid biosynthesis and accumulation, but detailed information on fruit plastid development and its relation to carotenoid accumulation remains largely unclear. Here, using Baisha (BS; white-fleshed) and Luoyangqing (LYQ; red-fleshed) loquat (), a detailed microscopic analysis of plastid development during fruit ripening was carried out. In peel cells, chloroplasts turned into smaller chromoplasts in both cultivars, and the quantity of plastids in LYQ increased by one-half during fruit ripening.
