Background: Cerebral small vessel disease (CSVD) is a significant contributor to both stroke and dementia. While numerous studies on CSVD have been published, herein, we have conducted a bibliometric examination of the literature on CSVD, revealing its hot spots and emerging patterns.
Methods: We used the Web of Science Core Collection as our primary database and conducted a literature search from January 2008 to January 2023.
Objective: The models currently available for predicting the risk of seizure recurrence after antiepileptic drug (AED) withdrawal in adult epilepsy patients include the prediction model developed by Lamberink et al (Lamberink model, 2017) and the Medical Research Council prediction model (MRC model, 1993). However, there was no external validation for the two models. The purpose of this study was to perform an independent external validation and a comparison of the Lamberink model and the MRC model in adult patients.

A crucial issue for these patients and their families, especially after a long period of seizure freedom, is when to stop their medications.
Objective: The aim of this study was to identify the optimal timing of AED withdrawal in adults with focal epilepsy who had been seizure-free for ≥ 2 years.
Purpose: This study is to compare the efficacy of substitution with add-on therapy in patients with focal epilepsy, whose first monotherapy has failed after receiving usual treatments.
Methods: This is a prospective, long-term, non-randomized observational cohort study. Data were collected from Wenzhou Epilepsy Follow Up Registry Database.
Objective: The objective of this study was to apply diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) to investigate microstructural abnormalities in temporal lobe epilepsy (TLE) with and without hippocampal sclerosis (HS).
Materials: Totally, 19 patients with TLE with HS and 23 patients with TLE without HS were included. Fiber tracking fibers focused on the parahippocampal cingulum (PHC), cingulate gyrus (CG), and fornix (FORX).
Objective: The objective of this study was to estimate the risk of a seizure relapse and the high-risk period of recurrence after antiepileptic drug (AED) withdrawal and to determine the predictive factors for a seizure relapse in adult patients with focal epilepsy who were seizure-free for more than 2years.
Methods: Using the Wenzhou Epilepsy Follow-Up Registry Database, 200 adult patients with focal epilepsy were recruited, who were undergoing follow-up, met the inclusion criteria of this study, were seizure-free for more than 2years, began withdrawing between June 2003 and June 2014, and were followed up prospectively for at least 1year or until a seizure relapse. The risk of recurrence and the time to seizure relapse were analyzed by the Kaplan-Meier method, and the predictive factors were identified by the Cox proportional hazard regression model.
Objective: To evaluate and compare long-term effectiveness of five antiepileptic drugs (AEDs) for monotherapy of adult patients with focal epilepsy in routine clinical practice.
Methods: Adult patients with focal epilepsy, who were prescribed with carbamazepine (CBZ), valproate (VPA), lamotrigine (LTG), topiramate (TPM), or oxcarbazepine (OXC) as monotherapy, during the period from January 2004 to June 2012 registered in Wenzhou Epilepsy Follow Up Registry Database (WEFURD), were included in the study. Prospective long-term follow-up was conducted until June 2013.
Background: Depression, a common comorbidity of drug abuse, is often a core component of withdrawal symptoms; however, risk factors associated with depressive symptoms during the acute stage of withdrawal among methamphetamine (METH) users are not well understood. This study investigated the correlations between several potential risk factors and depressive symptoms during acute METH withdrawal in a Han Chinese population.
Methods: A total of 243 eligible Chinese METH users were recruited from Wenzhou Sanyang Detoxification Institute in Zhejiang province from November 2012 to June 2013.
