Clinico-Hematological Features and Management Outcome in Neonatal Malaria: A Nine Years Analysis from North India.

Background: Malaria is an important cause of death and illness in children worldwide. Most cases of neonatal malaria are misdiagnosed because of lack of specific symptoms and general lack of awareness. Nothing much is known in literature about the hematological changes during malaria infection and outcome of disease in neonates.

Torsion of undescended testis in an infant: case for early orchiopexy.

Torsion of the testis is a true surgical emergency in paediatric age group. Prompt recognition of the condition and immediate surgical intervention is the only hope for testicular salvage. The condition becomes all the more important when this occurs in an undescended testis as the diagnosis is often delayed, and therefore the treatment too.

Caudal regression syndrome--case report and review of literature.

Caudal regression syndrome is a rare disorder of distal spinal segments affecting the development of the spinal cord, with attendant sequelae. Intelligence is preserved. The exact etiology is elusive, though maternal diabetes, genetic factors, and hypoperfusion might play roles.

Unusual presentation of an iatrogenic esophageal perforation in a newborn.

Spontaneous rupture of esophagus (Boerhaave's Syndrome) in neonates is a rare occurrence. However iatrogenic perforation of the esophagus is not that uncommon, especially in a premature. The presentation of esophageal perforation is rather stereotyped.
