Pyroelectric (PE) detection technologies have attracted extensive attention due to the cooling-free, bias-free, and broadband properties. However, the PE signals are generated by the continuous energy conversion processes from light, heat, to electricity, normally leading to very slow response speeds. Herein, we design and fabricate a PE detector which shows extremely fast response in near-infrared (NIR) band by combining with the inhomogeneous plasmonic metasurface.

Cross-domain methods have been proposed to learn the domain invariant knowledge that can be transferred from the source domain to the target domain. Existing cross-domain methods attempt to minimize the distribution discrepancy of the domains. However, these methods fail to explore the domain invariant subspace due to the samples of different classes between two domains may overlap in the new subspace.

We propose a novel cavity-coupled MIM nano-hole array structure that exhibits a tunable dual passband in the near-infrared regime. When compared with the traditional single metal film, the designed structure provides a coupling effect between Gspp and SPP to significantly reduce the linewidths of the two transmission peaks. We also reveal the physical origin of the positive and negative influence of the cavity effect on the transmission of high-frequency and low-frequency peaks.

Photothermal therapy triggered by near-infrared light in the second biowindow (NIR-II) has attracted extensive interest owing to its deeper penetration depth of biological tissue, lower photon scattering, and higher maximum permissible exposure. In spite of noble metals showing great potential as the photothermal agents due to the tunable localized surface plasmon resonance, the biological applications of platinum are rarely explored. Herein, a monocomponent hollow Pt nanoframe ("Pt Spirals"), whose superstructure is assembled with three levels (3D frame, 2D layered shells, and 1D nanowires), is reported.

We propose a novel compound grating structure that exhibits a tunable ultra-narrowband transmission in the near infrared regime. The thin microstructure can realize a steep wave form through a Fano-like resonance by coupling different propagation-type SPP modes and with a narrow line width formed by the energy band gap. Additionally, the out-of-band suppression is remarkably enhanced.
