Background: The tomato russet mite (TRM), Aculops lycopersici, is a strictly herbivorous and economically significant pest that infests Solanaceae plants, but its host suitability varies, showing high performance on tomatoes. Although symbiotic bacteria have been suggested to play crucial roles in the host adaptation of herbivores, their effects on TRM remain unclear.
Results: In this study, using next generation high-throughput sequencing of the bacterial 16S rRNA data, we identified the bacterial diversity and community composition of TRM feeding on tomato, eggplant, and chili.
Koch is a worldwide agricultural pest mite that feeds on more than 1100 kinds of crops. The mite has developed a high level of tolerance to high temperatures, but the physiological mechanism underlying the outstanding adaptability of this pest to high temperatures remains unclear. To clarify the physiological mechanisms of in response to short-term heat stress, four temperatures (36, 39, 42, and 45 °C) and three short-term heat durations (2, 4, and 6 h) were conducted to test the effects on protein content, the activities of superoxide dismutase (SOD), peroxidase (POD), and catalase (CAT), and the total antioxidant capacity (T-AOC).

Among its components, we identified an amide alkaloid (EB-A) and investigated its anti-asthmatic activity and the underlying mechanisms.

Among these tools, Multiple Transform Selection (MTS) require the best of several transforms to be obtained using the Rate-Distortion Optimization (RDO) process, which increases the time spent video encoding, meaning that VVC is not suited to real-time sensor application networks. In this paper, a low-complexity multiple transform selection, combined with the multi-type tree partition algorithm, is proposed to address the above issue.

Poplar production can be inhibited by infections caused by bacteria, including Lonsdalea quercina subsp. populi, which is a gram-negative bacterium responsible for bark canker disease.
