Short tandem repeats (STRs) are abundant and have high mutation rates across cattle genomes; however, comprehensive exploration of cattle STRs is needed. Here, we constructed a comprehensive map of 467 553 polymorphic STRs (pSTRs) constructed from 423 cattle genomes representing 59 breeds worldwide. We observed that pSTRs in coding sequences and 5'UTRs (Untranslated Regions) were under strong selective constraints and exhibited a relatively low level of diversity.

Fe-based catalysts are commonly applied in the process of Fischer-Tropsch synthesis (FTS) to olefins, with Hägg iron carbide (FeC) recognized as the primary active phase. However, iron carbonyls, the raw materials for wet chemical synthesis of FeC, are expensive and toxic, which limits large-scale preparation. Cancer cells often exhibit fragmented mitochondria and dysregulated mitochondrial dynamics, but the underlying mechanism remains elusive. Here, we found that the mitochondrial protein death-associated protein 3 (DAP3) is localized to mitochondria and promotes the progression of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) by regulating mitochondrial function. DAP3 can promote the proliferation, migration, and invasion of HCC cells in vitro and in vivo by increasing mitochondrial respiration, inducing the epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT), and slowing cellular senescence.
