Background: Recent phase III randomized controlled trials have demonstrated that first-line immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) improve prognosis in advanced HER-2-negative gastric cancer patients with programmed death ligand 1 (PD-L1) combined positive score (CPS) higher than 5. However, these findings are not confirmed in real-world settings, and the benefits in PD-L1 CPS < 5 patients remain controversial.

Methods: In this multicenter, retrospective cohort study, data from across thirteen medical centers were analyzed by inverse probability of treatment weighting for matching, alongside univariate and multivariate COX proportional hazard regression models.

Background: Sow endometritis is a common disease in pig breeding farms after artificial insemination, which leads to gray-green vaginal secretions and decreased conception rates. It is important to perform an etiologic diagnosis for effective treatments and control of diseases. The aim of this study was to carry out a pathogenic detection in five specimens of vaginal secretions collected from sick pigs with endometritis, implement identification of the pathogens by phenotypic detection and 16 s rDNA sequence and phylogeny analysis, and determinate antibiotic susceptibility of the isolates.

Porcine epidemic diarrhea virus (PEDV) is an important pathogen causing severe watery diarrhea, vomiting, dehydration, and death in sucking piglets. Attenuated vaccines have been used widely in sows in order to protect piglets through passive lactogenic immunity. Rapid and sensitive detection methods for differentiating attenuated vaccine strains from virulent ones are essential and practical in PEDV prevention and control.

Histamine (HIS) producers in fermented wines are generally believed to be lactic acid bacteria (LAB), and other microorganisms have received little or no attention. In this work, HIS-producing bacteria were isolated from Qu fermentation starter for Chinese rice wine brewing by decarboxylase medium, and their identity was confirmed by RP-HPLC and PCR. Surprisingly, the histidine decarboxylase gene (hdc) was present in only 2 out of 26 isolates.

This experiment was conducted to study the protective efficacy of recombinant plasmid pET32a(+)-ADF-3-1E in coccidian-infected breeding chickens. The 7-day-old chickens were randomly divided into five groups: a recombinant plasmid pET32a(+)-ADF-3-1E group, a pET32a(+)-ADF group, a pET32a(+)-3-1E group, a control group, and an infection control group. The chickens were immunized intramuscularly with recombinant plasmid DNA in a dose of 200 μg, respectively, and a booster vaccination was given at the same dosage 1 week later.
